According to ME News, on May 8 (UTC+8), British sprinter CJ Ujah, a gold medalist in the 4x100-meter relay at the 2017 World Championships, was charged alongside nine other suspects with conspiracy to commit fraud, suspected of involvement in a cryptocurrency scam. Police stated that the suspects impersonated police officers and employees of cryptocurrency companies to call victims, tricking them into revealing their wallet seed phrases and subsequently stealing their crypto assets; one victim lost over £300,000. Ujah has been released on bail, and the case will continue at Chelmsford Crown Court on May 28.
